On March 27, 2026, Soundshed Guitar released the beta version. On May 23, 2026, version 1.1.0 of the Guitar Amp Sim, which is based on NAM (Neural Amp Modeler), was released.
guitar-sims.com would have liked to test this promising guitar amp simulator, but unfortunately, the software wouldn't work. guitar-sims.com was unable to launch Soundshed Guitar either in standalone mode or as a plugin within a DAW.
Soundshed Guitar has contacted Soundshed and reported the issues. Soundshed will certainly look into the cause now.
However, this shouldn’t prevent others from trying out this plugin, as Soundshed reports that it runs flawlessly on other computers.
If there are any updates, guitar-sims.com will post them here.
Update from June 8, 2026:
On June 5, 2026, Soundshed released update v.1.2.0. guitar-sims.com has now had the opportunity to test Soundshed Guitar. Unfortunately, there are still some bugs on our own PC, but Soundshed Guitar should run on most other computers. What guitar-sims.com has to say so far is that Soundshed Guitar appears to be the long-awaited software for NAM that includes everything a guitarist could want. Of course, the bugs still need to be fixed and Soundshed Guitar needs to run on every PC, but the first impression is very positive.
Please note:
In the audio settings, set the sample rate to 48 kHz (NOT 41 kHz). Soundsed Guitar will then run much more smoothly and perform better.
See the Reddit thread about version 1.2.0: Release 1.2.0 - NAM A2 support, DSP performance improvements, Tone 3000 integration updates.
